One in a series of eight books which looks at the problems associated with ethnic groups and minorities over a time span of 100 years from the middle of the 19th century to the beginning of the Second World War – the peak years for national conflicts in Europe.

Index

Janusz J. Tomiak is lecturer in comparative education at the Institute of Education, University of London. He is a native of Poland, attended primary and secondary schools there and in the Soviet Union and Germany. He served as a soldier in the Polish Underground Army in 1944 and then came to the United States to study at Clark University. Continuing his education in England, Professor Tomiak received a bachelor’s degree in economics with honors and a master of arts in education degree with distinction, both from the University of London.
